There is nothing like Your love

This is the time of year we remember the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It always breaks my heart when I think of the suffering and death Christ endured for me, but then there is his sweet resurrection that came just three days later. And because of his death and resurrection, I have the hope of eternal life and eternity with him. It truly is amazing. And this is the reason I have left my home, my family, and the way of life I’m used to, to come to Peru and immerse myself in a new culture. There are still villages in the deep jungles of Peru that have never heard the name of Christ. Jesus died for those people too, and they need to hear the sweet forgiveness that comes through Jesus Christ.
But it’s not just in foreign countries that the Word needs to be shared. People everywhere, including the states, are dying without the hope of a Savior. The people we walk past on the street, the waitress at our favorite restaurant, the bag boy at the grocery store; everyone is in need of our Savior. And we have the answer! One of my favorite verses is Romans 10:14, “But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim to him?” The answer to each of those questions is us! God uses us to reach the lost of the world. How amazing is that? Our God is so big and powerful, he doesn’t need us, yet he chooses to use us to further his kingdom. Verse 15 from that same passage continues with, “And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the fee of those who bring good news!’” You don’t have to be a preacher or considered important to “bring good news.” God had equipped each of us with what we need – His Word. And we have a special story of what he has done in our lives in particular. How Christ has changed you can make an immense impact on others around you!
So, this Easter, I want to encourage you to remind yourself of the power of Christ’s resurrection, how it changed your life, and how every person needs to hear of His redeeming love!
