World Changers!

Well day 4 of International World Changers is half way done. 90 students and leaders from several different churches in the states have come for one week to work in Canta and surrounding villages. We started the first day, Saturday, at an orphanage near Lima. There are 750 children at this orphanage! We gave shoes to every kid as well as toothpaste and a toothbrush. It was a long day, but such a blessing! Sunday, the first full day in Canta, I had the privilege of going out with half the students to witness 2 baptisms at a church in the town of Huaros. An eight year old girl, and an older gentlemen were both baptized in a stream. We then spent the day with the people of the church celebrating their 3rd year as a church through food and worship. It was an overall wonderful day. Yesterday, I went with one of the teams to 2 schools here in Canta. We taught the kids English, read a couple Bible stories, and loved on them a little. This morning, I went with another team to the village of Carhau. There we handed out reading glasses, toothpaste, and tooth brushes to anyone who came. The team is going back tonight to hold a Bible study in the plaza. One crazy thing about today...I saw 3 real mummies! The mummies are in the upstairs of the school in Carhau, not in boxes or anything, just sitting up against the wall! It's incredible. They are believed to have been 3 young women, buried alive as a sacrifice. How strange to just have something like that sitting out in a school! It was pretty cool to see though! (I will post pictures after the trip is over.)
Well, we have 2 more days of ministry here in the Canta area. We know that God is working here, but please pray that more people will be open and eager to hear his Word!
